south west trident club
Three Races. Three Hundred Miles. One Club.
The South West Trident is earned, not joined. Finish our three longest ultras and your name goes on the wall — permanently.

About ultra trial events
What is the Trident?
The South West Trident Club exists for one reason: to recognise the runners who’ve taken on the full weight of what the South West has to offer.
To qualify, you need to complete all three of our longest races — the Devon Coast to Coast (112 miles), the Jurassic Extinction (105 miles), and the North Coast 110. That’s over 300 miles of coast path and moorland, spread across some of the most demanding ultra events in England.
There are no membership fees. No applications. No shortcuts. You earn your place by finishing, and your name stays on this page for good.
Since the club began, fewer than 25 people have qualified. One has won all three races outright. One completed the 120-mile Jurassic on a training run, and one has now become our first Triple Trident finisher, completing every qualifying race more three times or more.
This is what the South West Trident looks like when people take it seriously.

Every person below finished all three races. Some took years. Some came back and did it again. A handful have placed on the podium across multiple events. What they have in common is that they all kept going when most people wouldn’t have started.

Who will be next?
Your name could be on this page. It takes one entry, one start line, and a willingness to find out what you’re made of. The races are open to everyone — the Trident is earned by very few.
